CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

Conditional Sentence adalah kalimat pengandaian yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu peristiwa yang belum terjadi atau bahkan tidak mungkin terjadi. Kalimat pengandaian ini memiliki beberapa pola yang dalam pembentukannya disesuaikan dengan tense/bentuk waktu.

Ada 3 type dari Conditional Sentences :

1.      Present/Future (real)

2.      Present (unreal)

3.      Past (unreal)

×        The Formula type 1 (Real Condition)

If + S + Present Tense, S + Future Tense

Example :

»     If I pass the exam, I will continue to university.

»     If I have free time, I will go swimming

×        The Formula type 2 (Unreal Condition)

If + S + Past Tense, S + Future Tense

Example :

»     If I won the universe contest, I would buy Ferrari.

»     If it rained tomorrow, I would sleep all day.

×        The Formula type 3 (Unreal Condition)

If + S + Past Perfect Tense, S + Future Past Perfect Tense

Example :

»     If you had studied hard, you would have passed the exam.

»     If you had remembered to invite me, I would have attended your party.
